As excited as we get here at Lithia Chrysler Jeep of Reno over the promise of a new addition to our fabulous lineup of new and used cars, some stories just put things in perspective. Folks, the fact of the matter is that there are a whole lot of people in the world who are far less fortunate than we are, and you better believe that we consider ourselves infinitely grateful to work with such a generous automaker who recognizes that.
For the past 20 years now, the brass at Chrysler have been staging their Chrysler Drive for the Kids event as one of many ways of giving back to communities and institutions that need it. The way it works is like this:
Whenever the Chrysler Drive for the Kids event is announced, schools across the nation are eligible to sign up to be a part of it. Once selected, any licensed driver from the age of 18 or older can test drive a 2013 Chrysler Town & Country (or any model-year Chrysler vehicle for that matter) that is brought to school premises. For each person that test drives one of the said models, Chrysler makes a $10 donation to that school for them to use as they please. As you can imagine, the numbers add up.
Over the course of two decades, Chrysler has donated millions of dollars to schools that have participated, and with over 300 events scheduled in this year alone, we don't see any signs of stopping.
So if you'd like your local school to be part of the program, then head on over to Chrysler's Drive for the Kids website and get signed up. And if you just can't wait that long for a test drive, then we'll be happy to help you out at our dealership here in Reno, NV. Can't let these schools have all the fun now, can we?
