Given the broad range of fabulous new and used cars we have here at Lithia Chrysler Jeep of Reno, it's always a cause for celebration when any of them wins an award. But as fond as we are of these here models, it pales in comparison to our love for Chrysler. Because after all, it's not every day that your favorite automaker wins top honors from the World Class Manufacturing (WCM) Academy.
For those unfamiliar, the WCM Academy has been training thousands of workers across North America for hands-on careers in the North American auto industry. The ultimate goal of the WCM Academy is to increase productivity and reduce waste, all while improving upon safety and quality standards.
Not only that, but for the past nine years now, the ML100 Awards have been honoring the efforts of those automakers who have been paving the way for the future of global manufacturing. So when the brass at Chrysler were recently honored with the High Achiever award for earning the highest scores in each of the New Workforce categories, you can bet we were breaking out the bubbly.
As for how they got there, all signs point to the WCM Academy.
"The Chrysler Group workforce has embraced WCM, overcome challenges and changed the culture within our facilities," says General Holiefield, director of the Chrysler Department. "The Academy is accelerating this progress by providing opportunities for those on the shop floor to share know-how and develop critical skills that will continue to move the Company forward."1
Like we said, there's a whole lot to love about Chrysler these days, so if you'd like join in on the all the fun, your test drive awaits you at our dealership here in Reno, NV. After all, they don't give these awards out to just anybody.
