We can hardly believe it, folks, but it's officially been 30 years since one of our favorite automakers introduced us to the minivan. Since that time, this industry just hasn't been the same and the Chrysler Town & Country has only gotten better. Needless to say, we're already breaking out the bubbly here at Lithia Chrysler Jeep of Reno. As for our minivan of the hour, it's getting itself a makeover.
Just this week, the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country 30th Anniversary Edition was unveiled for all to see. As for what makes this special edition just that, let's start with the exterior, shall we?
Not only do you have 17-inch wheels and unique badging, but there's even a Touring-L trim and Granite Crystal Pearl paint job. Once you're inside, drivers can expect a healthy of dose of Nappa leather and black Alcantara on the interior. Under the hood, there's even a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine complete with a six-speed automatic transmission that delivers up to 283 horsepower.
Needless to say, the brass at Chrysler are ringing in the big three-oh in style.
"The Chrysler Group is well known as the creator of the minivan, and these 30th Anniversary Editions are the perfect way to celebrate their leadership and longevity in the marketplace," says Ben Winter, vice president of Vehicle Engineering at Chrysler. "As the minivan segment and innovation leader, it's important that we continue to offer tremendous content and value, setting us apart from the rest of the segment."1
