Even though the Chrysler Group is one, big, happy family, we still can't help but play favorites. And since most of our lot here in Reno, NV are made up of Chrysler and Jeep models, we can't help but celebrate the landmark success these two brands had in 2013.
The big picture is quite impressive. As of the December sales report, the Chrysler Group on the whole has seen 45 consecutive months of year-over-year sales gains. Over the same month in 2012, the automaker scored 6 percent--with 161,007 models sold over 152,000 in 2012.
If the monthly picture is awesome, the annual one is even more so. The yearly total for Chrysler came out to be 1.8 million units, a 9 percent year-over-year hop--officially throwing 2013 into the record books as the best year since 2007.
The best performing brand, of course, was Jeep. Their sales, led by the new 2014 Cherokee jumped to 15,000, slotting it in second behind the Grand Cherokee in the realm of the brand's top models.
On the whole, the Jeep brand saw a 34 percent sales gain in December, with the Patriot cashing in with a 35 percent jump--the highest of any of the brand's models. All in all, a very good month--and year--for the Jeep brand.
